Dust off the tails and white gloves for the fifth edition of Le Gala de la Femme.
After the success of the event two years ago, La Cle d’la Baie en Huronie – a catalyst organization that promotes active participation from community members to seek balanced growth and development of the French speaking community –will be hosting the event at Penetanguishene’s King’s Wharf Theatre on Saturday, March 29 at 7 p.m.
This formal affair will honour five local women for their commitment to the francophone community.
Categories include health/environment, career, youth, mother and volunteer.
“It’s important to honour these women because they have a lot to offer their community,” Angela Jones-Schmid tells The Mirror.
“They play an important role in these categories, and they really do make a difference… some practically help make a change in someone’s life.”
Close to 30 women were nominated for the five awards, something that will make choosing the winners difficult.
Winners will be announced at the Gala. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for seniors, students and children. Reserve your ticket now by calling 549-3116 or by emailing billets@lacle.ca.
