MIDLAND – “The Nutcracker” is a beloved ballet that has become a cherished Christmas tradition for millions of people.
Next month, Midland families will have a chance to see it for themselves at the Galaxy Cinemas.
The Royal Ballet’s production of “The Nutcracker,” recorded live at the Royal Opera House at Covent Garden in London, England, will be shown on the big screen on Dec. 12 and 23.
“‘The Nutcracker’ is a wonderful ballet for the entire family and is the perfect way to ring in the holiday season,” Pat Marshall, a Cineplex Entertainment official, stated in a press release.
The ballet draws on all the imagination and fantasy of E.T.A. Hoffmann’s story of Christmas Eve, when young Clara creeps downstairs for one of her presents, but finds herself instead at the start of a night of magical adventures.
Advance tickets for the 1 p.m. shows are available online at www.cineplex.com/events, as well as at the theatre box office. Admission is $9.25 for children ages three to 13, $11.50 for seniors and $12.50 for general admission.
