As the opening day draws nearer, we need to speak out against the landfill and be supportive of this group of individuals.
The aquifer under Site 41 supplies drinking water for the areas stretching from the northernmost end of Tiny Township, south to Newmarket and Aurora, east to Alliston and west to Oro Medonte.
Although environmental assessments have been approved, the landfill leachate will migrate horizontally across the ground’s surface. This leachate also increases the possibility of contamination to the aquifer from connecting ground sources.
If you wish to contribute or assist the natives in protesting this site, some items they could use are: vegetable oil, granola bars, powdered juices, toothbrushes, toothpaste, batteries, tea light candles, garbage bags, paper towels, tissue paper, non-perishable food items, twine, rope and tarps.
Thanks for your support and donations.
