Re: “Mayors blast provincial growth goal,” The Mirror, June 18.
If mayors Dubeau and Downer are concerned about the growth of our community, perhaps tending to the needs of the working class and leaving the high and mighty to fend for themselves would make this area more attractive.
With dwindling employment in the area, who in their right mind would want to move here?
Let’s replace the now-defunct factories with new employers and businesses that will employ more than three people. A few 5,000-employee businesses would spark the area immensely and make our beautiful area attractive to new families who are looking to resettle.
At the rate they are going, this area will soon parallel the Maritime provinces, where the youth leave home after school seeking employment. It pretty much appears that they want this area exclusively for seniors and welfare recipients.
Get some new jobs and our municipalities will grow.
