The Canadian Pacific Railway Holiday Train is carrying entertainment, holiday fun and donations for local food banks when it pulls in to Simcoe County tomorrow at 1 p.m.

The train, decorated in thousands of lights, will make a stop in Midhurst, at Highway 26 and Anne Street North, as part of its 10th-annual trip across Canada and the U.S.

The train collects food money and food along its route, making donations to local food banks at each of its stops. The free event gets underway at noon with holiday music and hot chocolate and coffee.

The train will arrive at 1 p.m., with musicians Johnny Reid and Tracey Brown on board.  Reid is the 2008 Canadian Country Music Association male artist of the year, and Brown is a country music hall of famer.

The train will also bring donations for the Barrie Food Bank and the Elmvale and District Food Bank.

The event is free to attend, but the public is asked to bring a food bank donation.
