A 63-year-old Balm Beach woman was injured during after a scuffle on her property Sunday that resulted in damage to a wooden fence.

The fence, which runs along the property line to the water’s edge, cuts off pedestrian access to the property along the beach.

OPP Const. Mark Kinney said police were originally called regarding a mischief complaint about the fence, involving a chainsaw. No chainsaw was found on the scene, he said.

“Officers arrived around 5:30 p.m. Sunday and we saw more than 100 people in the area,” said Kinney.

Parts of the fence had been removed but police don’t know who did the damage.

The woman was taken to Huronia District Hospital for minor injuries and was released.

“We’re still trying to establish how our property owner got injured and we’re hoping somebody saw something they’d like to talk to us about,” Kinney said.

When reached Monday, Kinney said he believes the fence had been repaired.
