The booming voice of a Simcoe.com staffer will be heard on the radio waves this summer, thanks to a partnership with The Dock 104.1.

Internet editor Glenn Wilkins will be heard at 8:10 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays on the local station, to promote this website, Simcoe.com.

“I’ll be priming people far and wide about what our site’s all about, what you can find on it and what a great tool it is,” said Wilkins. “You don’t have to wait for the paper to discover what’s going on in Simcoe County.”

Wilkins is no stranger to the airwaves, with previous experience as a national newscaster and sportscaster. His career spans 20 years, including writing for print, magazine and television for CTV's Canada AM.

He has been at the Barrie Advance for three years, serving mostly as the Internet editor, and also handling the police beat.  He also won a Metroland Award of Excellence this year for best news story.

The live radio spots on 104.1 The Dock FM will last two minutes, and Wilkins will serve up a bit of what the website has to offer.
