Thousands took in the sights and sounds at Celebrate Barrie Saturday.

They came out for the free waterfront festival that featured inflatables, a petting zoo, a rock climbing wall, rides and more than 50 community groups offering free activities and interactive displays.

There were also two entertainment stages showcasing local musicians, dance troupes and more. The event encouraged people to come out and celebrate their city.
