MPP Garfield Dunlop could have used a bit more oil on the wheels; he fell short of the mayor's winning time at the wheelchair challenge

Local politicians who tackled the wheelchair obstacle course on May 30 at Huronia Mall.

Mayor Jim Downer had the winning time at 47 seconds, while federal MP Bruce Stanton tied
Simcoe North MPP Garfield Dunlop with a time of 54 seconds.

The course was part of a wider Scotiabank ‘Wheels In Motion’ event to raise money for individuals, including colleagues, who have suffered a spinal cord injury. In Midland, the obstacle course raised $400, with another $300 raised from donations received at the branch.

Town Grill donated almost $100. Anyone interested in helping the team reach its goal can drop off a donation at the Huronia Mall branch, of call 526-0030.
