Special guest Meg Whitton from The Dock 104.1 had the privilege of carrying the torch during the run, which has raised more than $18 million in the past 20 years from runs across the province.

Officers from the Southern Georgian Bay OPP, Midland Police Service, Central North Correctional Centre, along with a few local Special Olympians, took part in the annual Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Thursday.

Close to 30 people participated, running from The Best Western to the town dock in Midland, and collecting donations along the way. The run has raised more than $18 million in the past 20 years from runs across the province.
