Mary Pat Quilty of Midland, the Head Professional at Settlers’ Ghost Golf Club located near Craighurst, shot an impressive round of even par earlier this week to win her third Ontario PGA Ladies’ Championship.

Quilty, who was disappointed with her recent play at the Canadian PGA Women’s Championship, bounced back nicely under very tough conditions at Eagles Nest.

“I was really disappointed with my final round (88) at the CPGA,” said Quilty.

“I decided after the CPGA I wouldn’t touch a club and just take a break for a while.”

The break seemed to bode well for Quilty, who had four birdies and two bogies – including an untimely bogey on the 17th hole.

With this win, Quilty now has a total of seven Ontario PGA victories, which includes four Ontario PGA Mixed titles.

“I really stayed in the moment and I am proud of myself for being able to do it,” added Quilty.

“The course was playing extremely tough today with the wind and green speeds.”

Eagles Nest Golf Club was a tough test for the ladies and scores are indicative of the conditions.

Green speeds topped 10 on the Stimp Meter, while wind gusts reached upwards of 40 km/h.

Finishing behind Quilty in second place was Sarah Boyce of Credit Valley Golf and Country Club.
